County Materials Helps the City of Salem Police Department Replace AED Devices

The City of Salem Police Department provides law enforcement and community care services to the City of Salem in Illinois. Because the community relies on services provided by United Medical EMS through the 9-1-1 dispatch for emergency medical services, officers of the Salem Police Department may be the first to respond to medical emergencies.

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are essential in cardiac arrest medical emergencies. The department only had five AEDs and they all did not operate the same, requiring various trainings to be completed. County Materials assisted the Salem Police Department in obtaining eight new AEDs, equipping each patrol car with a new unit that operates identically.

This year, in celebration of our company’s 75th anniversary, County Materials is committed to share 75 Stories of Impact, featuring organizations that receive funding from the Sonnentag Foundation and are part of the communities where we have locations.
