Soldiers’ Angels is an organization that provides aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, their families and veterans. In 2017 Soldiers’ Angels raised $17 million in aid and sent 132,394 letters and 27,186 care packages. This year, County Materials team members shared in the holiday spirit by providing care packages stuffed into Christmas stockings that will be distributed to military families, wounded heroes, deployed service members and veterans through Soldiers’ Angels.
Team members at several County Materials’ locations donated enough food and supplies to fill 93 Christmas stockings. One County Materials team member went above and beyond the call of duty by making Christmas stockings for soldiers overseas; Todd Borremans, a production team member in Green Bay, and his wife handmade red, white and blue knitted hats and helped fill them.
“Overall, bringing in small gifts for military members who are overseas was very festive at the Green Bay location,” said Justin Werner, Technical Administrator. “This opportunity to give helped form a tight comradery between those who participated. As a former Marine that has been deployed, I know how important it is to see that people back home care. Watching how the events at our locations brought people together breathes life into humanity during the holidays.”
