Safety Stand Down Event Promotes the Connection Between Safety and Success

On March 20th, County Materials’ Roberts, WI pipe production team conducted their annual Safety Stand Down event. County Materials is committed to team member safety throughout the organization and each location regularly participates in safety talks and demonstrations. The Safety Stand Down event held in Roberts was an opportunity for the pipe production team to update individuals on safety topics and have open discussions addressing safety questions and suggestions.

“Our safety program is developed to ensure everybody is on the same page and to reinforce the value of doing the right thing,” said Carlos Villarreal, Location Manager at the Roberts facility. “We talked about what it means to be a valuable member of a team and keeping safety and quality in mind for everything we do.”

The event included three stations for team members to participate in hands-on safety demonstrations. County Materials invited guest speakers from the Minnesota Department of Transportation and an industry partner to provide an outside perspective on safe practices and material handling.

Hosting safety events is another example of how County Materials demonstrates its Vision of Success, Support and Stability. Carlos explained, “County Materials works to provide all team members with the tools to be successful, and safety is a big part of that success.”
