Federal and State Highway Engineers Tour County Materials’ Janesville Prestress Plant

About 20 engineers from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation toured County Materials’ Janesville, Wisconsin, facility to get a firsthand look at prestressed bridge girder production. Officials from the Federal Highway Administration and Joe Lombard, Executive Director of Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute of Illinois and Wisconsin also joined the tour. County Materials team members discussed the reliability of prestressed concrete bridge girders and why they are specified to build safer, longer-lasting structures.

“County Materials places a strong emphasis on plant tours as they provide us an opportunity to showcase our manufacturing facilities and our talented team,” said Plant Operations Manager Gary Courneya. “These tours go a long way in promoting our bridge products and County Materials’ ability to successfully serve the prestressed bridge beam market in the Midwest.”
