County Materials Corporation Supports Collaborative Baseball Field Construction Project Between Local High School Students and RJ Jurowski Construction

Holmen, WI, October 2021 – County Materials Corporation donated 4,400 SF of concrete masonry units to help local high school juniors and seniors gain hands-on experience laying concrete block. Working alongside construction professionals from RJ Jurowski Construction, the students built a press box and dugouts for Blair-Taylor High School’s multi-use baseball field.

Students from Blair-Taylor, Arcadia, and Whitehall School Districts applied through the Trempealeau Valley Cooperative 2.0 to be part of the project. The TVC Co-Op 2.0 strives to develop career-ready and college-ready students by providing high caliber learning experiences, preparation, and partnership with the greater community.

The collaborative construction project was made possible with support from County Materials, RJ Jurowski Construction, TTC Materials, Central Builders Supply, Wisconsin Masonry Apprentices, and the International Masonry Training and Education Foundation.

“Back a long time ago, when I was in high school, I had a building trades class, and it actually led me into the career I’m in today.” – Kevin Lisowski, Project Manager, RJ Jurowski Construction

As a leading manufacturer of concrete construction products, County Materials supports the education and development of the skilled workforce. We recognize most students are introduced to career opportunities in skilled trades through technical education classes. County Materials proudly gives back to these programs to inspire students and keep our industry strong.

Together, we’re building a company that hardworking people are proud to work for, live near, and do business with since 1946.
