County Materials 2010 Charity Golf Outing supports United Way chapters

Generous contributions and the participation of more than 160 industry associates combined to help raise nearly $70,000 for United Way chapters during the 2010 County Materials Charity Golf Outing.

LeRoy Butler, former Green Bay Packer defensive back, participated as a golfer and was the featured guest speaker for the event, held at the Wausau Country Club on September 9th.

County Materials will distribute the funds to local United Way chapters throughout Wisconsin where they have locations.

The funds will help United Way in their mission of creating long-lasting changes in people's lives by addressing underlying causes of community problems. Many United Way grants are being designated to agencies or programs that provide basic needs and services such as food, clothing, housing, health and dental care, and services directed at preventing homelessness, such as rental and utility assistance.
