Fluted Block Adds Distinction to Contemporary Event Space

Poplar Hall is an event space in Appleton, Wisconsin, that can be used for concerts, weddings, birthday parties, business meetings, and more. Intended to inspire gatherings and connect people for unforgettable memories, the space is located on the beautiful Fox River and blends chic elegance with contemporary style.

To balance modern design while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, project leaders specified County Materials’ Fluted Block. The grey-toned units were used for portions of the structure to complement the warm wooden planking and sleek metal trim. The striking vertical lines contrast the horizontal placement of the wood, adding texture and distinction.

Project Highlights

Poplar Hall features 1,300 square feet of fluted block. These masonry units are popular for exterior and interior walls and are featured for both applications on this project. Concrete masonry offers limitless aesthetic options and allows architects and designers to think outside the box for spaces and structures that will have a lasting impact.
