Architecture association honors creative exhibit
The winning booth featured an interactive “Masonopoly” board game, which along with the booth and backdrop best highlighted the event’s “commUNITY” theme. But County Materials wasn’t the only winner for the day. The family-owned company also presented a $1,000 donation to the Wisconsin Architects Foundation (WAF), which will help fund scholarships for young architects in Wisconsin.
County Materials named some winners of its own: Domenico Ferrante of Briohn Design Group in Brookfield won a “Community Chest” donation of $300 from County Materials to the WAF in the name of Ferrante and his firm; Philip Blender of Millennium Architect in Green Bay won a $300 cash prize; Joseph Smerko of Marshall Erdman & Associates in Madison won tickets to his choice of a theater event or a water-park resort; and Mike Parnon of The Redmond Co. in Waukesha won a Monopoly® board game themed “USA Greatest Cities”. County Materials operates 30 locations serving the Midwest. The family-owned, American-based company is an industry leader in the manufacture and distribution of concrete block, brick, ready-mix, hollowcore, pipe, pavers, retaining walls and Aggregate finish products for residential, commercial and municipal construction and landscaping.
