St. Andrew expansion under way in Rib Mountain

RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis. (Feb. 12, 2007) – When St. Andrew Lutheran Church decided to expand, it turned to a neighbor from just up the road to help out.

The house of worship, at 3200 North Mountain Road, is building a 13,000-square-foot addition on its north side to accommodate its growth in parishioners. County Materials, based in Marathon, will supply the concrete masonry and ready-mix for the project.

“We showed their materials to our architects, and they were pretty impressed,” Building Committee Chairman Rick Radloff said.

St. Andrew’s addition will consist of 4,590 pieces of County Stone® Old World Tumbled masonry units in the color Sage, more than 23,000 units of Heritage Collection™ Designer Concrete Brick in a roughly 65/35 mix of Autumn Blend and Coffee Blend, and more than 19,000 units of structural block. It will rest on a foundation of more than 300 cubic yards of County Materials’ ready-mix concrete.

The addition will roughly double the size of the facility and will include a fellowship hall, chapel, activity room and classrooms. All will consist of more than 19,000 units of County Materials structural block.

County Materials operates 30 locations serving the Midwest. The family-owned, American company is an industry leader in the manufacture and distribution of concrete block, brick, stone, ready-mix, hollowcore, pipe, pavers, retaining walls and Aggregate Finish products for residential, commercial and municipal construction and landscaping.
