Four projects net honors from state builder/contractor group
MIDDLETON, Wis. (Nov. 3, 2006) – Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin announced the recipients of its 2006 Projects of Distinction Awards today at the Marriott Madison West. The purpose of ABC’ s annual program, in its 14th year, is to recognize construction projects across the state that are not necessarily high profile or have a big budget, but rather that adhered to a strict, efficient planning process.
Among this year’ s honorees are four supplied by local materials manufacturer County Materials:
Fox Valley Humane Association, Greenville (Merit Award – Under $5 Million Institutional)
- More than 50,000 concrete masonry units comprise
the interior of this animal shelter.

Chula Vista Resort, Wisconsin Dells (Winner – Interior Finishes)
- Mass expansion included additions to well/pump house and wave pool (1,100 CMUs), convention center (1,165 square feet thin stone veneer), villas (220,000 CMUs), and whirlpool building (660 CMUs).

Tanger Factory Outlet, Lake Delton (Merit Award – Over $10 Million Commercial)
- Mall consists of more than 60 stores, and utilizes 18,000 splitface CMUs and nearly 28,000 square feet of natural stone as a veneer.

Foremost Farms, Richland Center (Winner – Under $3 million Industrial) - Freezer addition consisted of load-bearing structural block.
