MARATHON, Wis. (May 17, 2004) – Wisconsin Builder Magazine is featuring its 20 Top Projects for 2003 in this month’s issue. County Materials supplied building materials for five of the outstanding construction projects.

Materials Overview: Concrete masonry was selected for the $1.9 million project for its appearance, durability and cost. The split face finish blended with the natural stone used in existing buildings on the island. The building included a dining hall, kitchen staff dorms, camp bathrooms and first aid station. Concrete masonry provided a strong structural and visual base to the lower level of the two-story multipurpose building that also needed to serve as a storm shelter for 200 campers and staff.
