Skates up: County Materials donates to Roberts skate park
VILLAGE of ROBERTS, Wis. (Sept. 21, 2005) – Skateboarders have a new venue to hang at now that the Village of Roberts has opened its new skate park.
County Materials, Roberts, donated 30 cubic yards of ready-mix concrete as well as two Autumn Blend-color Aggregate finish benches to the 13.4-acre facility inside Roberts Community Park that has been providing skaters and spectators alike with a place to "crash" since its opening in late summer.
"We have had local teens approach us on this project for several years," Park Board Chairwoman Stacey Claessens said. "With recent, necessary state and local budget cuts . it's only with generous donations from community partners like County Materials that we're able to complete projects like this one."
County Materials, founded in 1946, operates 30 locations serving Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois. The family-owned, American-based company is an industry leader in the manufacture and distribution of concrete block, brick, ready-mix, hollowcore, pipe, pavers, retaining walls and Aggregate finish products for residential, commercial and municipal construction and landscaping.
