Donation to Habitat for Humanity will benefit Wausau family

WAUSAU, Wis. (October 26, 2005) – Another family will be able to call a house a home thanks in part to a donation by County Materials to Habitat for Humanity.

County Materials, a locally based company in its third generation of family ownership, donated more than 330 units of retaining-wall block to help landscape the graded east-side lawn between the house, on Milwaukee Avenue, and the street.

“We’re happy we could provide some needed material for such a worthwhile project,” County Materials Marketing Director Rebecca Sonnentag said. “It takes strong families to form a thriving community, so we just wanted to help where we could, and at the same time ensuring a long-lasting home.”

County Materials, founded in 1946, operates 30 locations serving the Midwest. The American-based company is an industry leader in the manufacture and distribution of concrete block, brick, ready-mix, hollowcore, pipe, pavers, retaining walls and Aggregate finish products for residential, commercial and municipal construction and landscaping.
